Julia Flynn Siler Book Signing
The New York Times best selling author will be on-site at ‘Iolani Palace on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 for the debut of Lost Kingdom: Hawaii’s Last Queen, the Sugar Kings, and America’s First Imperial Adventure. Julia will be available to sign copies of her book from noon to 2:00 pm in the Palace Shop. 50% of the proceeds from the sale of the book will go to The Friends of ‘Iolani Palace.

Lauhala Plaiting

On the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Ulana Me ka Lokomaika`i will demonstrate the cultural art of lauhala plaiting, popularly referred to as lauhala weaving. If you are in the neighborhood, or want to learn more about traditional arts, visit the Palace Barracks to talk with these artisans and get a glimpse into the perpetuation of this Hawaiian craft.

Kama`aina Sundays
The Palace is open one day monthly for kama`aina to tour free on a first-come, first-served basis. It usually occurs on the first Sunday of the month.
Tours are free of charge for Hawai`i residents on a first-come, first-serve basis, with no reservations taken. For more details see Kama`aina Sunday »
Friday Band Concerts
The Royal Hawaiian Band also presents free concerts every Friday outdoors on the grounds between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. (weather permitting). Details »
