The Palace Shop - Ornaments
Each year, The Palace Shop presents a new ornament inspired by a unique and original `Iolani Palace motif. By popular demand a limited number of ornaments from prior years has also been made available. All ornaments are 24k gold electroplate on solid brass and presented in a gift box with informational insert. Prices and availability are subject to change. Sales tax and/or postage and handling charges are additional. Prices include any applicable Hawaii State excise tax. Phone, fax, e-mail, and mail order only. 2004 Ornament - Last in a series of five decorative ceiling rosette motifs. This ornament depicts a decorative ceiling rosette found in the King's Bedroom, Queen's Bedroom, Gold Room, and the Imprisonment Room. #49014 Available Now
2003 Ornament - Fourth in a series of five decorative ceiling rosette motifs. The eighteenth annual Friends' Christmas ornament depicts a decorative ceiling rosette found in King Kalakaua's Library and the Central Bedroom. #49012 Available Now
2002 Ornament - Third in a series of five decorative ceiling rosette motifs. This ornament depicts the decorative ceiling rosettes found in the Palace Blue Room and State Dining Room. #49010 Available Now
1999 Ornament - Scrolled Garland. This ornament is taken from the scrolled garland that frames the mirrored sconces on the `Iolani Palace Lanai. On the Lanai, the mirrors serve to enhance the electric lights. #49007 Available Now
1998 Ornament - Coronation Pavilion. Intricate latticework, graceful balusters and even the finial on the domed roof of the Coronation Pavilion are reproduced in this ornament. Located on the `Iolani Palace grounds, this structure was used for King Kalakaua's coronation in 1886. #49002 Available now
1996 Ornament - Star. A small tilt-top table in the King's Bedroom provides the star design for the 1996 Friends' Christmas ornament. #49004 Available now
1995 Ornament - Strike Plate. The design of the 1995 Friends' Christmas ornament is adapted from a decorative strike plate found in `Iolani Palace. #49013 Available now
1993 Ornament - Medallion 93 The medallion design of the Friends' 1993 Christmas ornament is taken from the design on the central towers of `Iolani Palace. This design is available as jewelry. #49006 Available now
1990 Ornament - Pulo`ulo`u. The 1990 Christmas ornament is derived from the pulo`ulo`u design on the railing of the second floor lanai of `Iolani Palace. The pulo`ulo`u dates from ancient times when it served as a symbol of kapu. #49018 Available Now
1989 Ornament - Egret. The proud egret depicted on the Friends' Christmas ornament for 1989 is adapted from the etched crystal entry doors of `Iolani Palace. #49016 Available now
1988 Ornament - Lamp Post. The 1988 Christmas ornament features an original design adapted from the cast iron lamp posts flanking the front and rear entry stairs of `Iolani Palace. (The actual lamp posts were installed when the Palace was electrified in July of 1887.) #49018 Available Now
1986 Ornament - Tower. The design of the 1986 Christmas ornament is derived from the Victorian architectural detailing on the four corner towers of `Iolani Palace. #49015 Available Now
