Pūlama `Ia Program

Pūlama `Ia success stories:
Honolulu Advertiser: Tsuitate A Standing Wooden Screen Is Unveiled At Iolani Palace
Honolulu Star Bulletin: Royal Desk Gleams Again at Palace

Many Palace artifacts remain in storage because of a lack of available conservation funds for repair and restoration. Through the Pūlama `Ia program, interested individuals or organizations can sponsor all or part of the restoration of a specific object in the Palace collection.

As a contributor to the Pūlama `Ia program, you will receive a special portfolio containing a brief history and description of your selected object, the proposed conservation treatment report, and documentary photographs before and after treatment. Your sponsorship will be acknowledged in The Friends of `Iolani Palace Quarterly, and you will be the guest of honor at the unveiling ceremony of the restored artifact. You will also benefit from a tax deduction as permitted by law.

Below are some of the items available for sponsorship. If you would like more information about this program, please call the Curator's Office at 808-522-0834.
