WHERE: Iolani Palace
Are you passionate about Hawaiian history and looking to share this passion with others? If so, consider volunteering with The Friends of Iolani Palace as a guardian. On Kamaaina Sundays, starting on March 8, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Palace will host a special guardian training session for community members interested in volunteering in this special role.
Guardians serve as gracious hosts of the Palace, looking after both guests and docents while sharing the significance of the Palace with visitors from around the world. Guardian volunteers must commit to at least 12 hours per month (three shifts).
The guardian training will take place on Kamaaina Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. starting on March 8. Individuals must be 18 or older, and should be comfortable on their feet for the duration of the training. Aloha attire is preferred; business casual, acceptable.
Participation is free and limited to the first 10 registrants. Sign up in advance by emailing kukui@iolanipalace.org. For more information on volunteer opportunities at the Palace, visit www.iolanipalace.org/contact/volunteer.
