Hear Hawaii Workshops

Iolani Palace’s new partnership with Hear Hawaii will provide exciting opportunities for guests to dive deeper into the culture of our islands. Monthly workshops held by Hear Hawaii will bring Hawaiian voices and stories to life in Iolani Palace’s Hale Koa (Barracks) Theatre Room every second Saturday of the month. The workshops, held from noon to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., are free to attend and open to all ages.

Space is limited to 20 students per class, so be sure to register early! Here’s the list of upcoming topics.

About Kumu Anuhea Kanealii

Classes are taught by Kumu Anuhea Kanealii, an Oahu Native with a passion for perpetuating the Hawaiian culture through education and practice. She is a graduate of Kapiolani Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Hawaiian Studies. Kumu Anuhea is a Hawaiian Studies teacher at Royal Elementary School and continues learning as a student of Hale Haumea, a collective of Indigenous women reclaiming their ancestral mana.
